We have received disturbing updates on the escalating violence in Ukraine and ask for your urgent prayers for the embattled Jewish community in the region.
One of our Fellowship partners in the region offered a sobering report:
Many checkpoints are closed due to constant shelling. The ability to enter and exit cities is restricted. People have no possibility to get their tiny pensions.
The residents of the occupied territories have no liberty and human rights. Their lives are in the hands of the terrorist government.
Yesterday the new "government” sent the director of the Jewish community (she is also the coordinator of all Fellowship projects in eastern Ukraine) to jail for questioning and then deported her.
The last week we had in our office more calls than ever with requests to emigrate to Israel. I am sure the number of new olim [immigrants] will significantly increase soon.
Please join us in praying for God’s mighty shalom, peace, in this part of the world that has known too much violence and chaos for far too long.
